Q: How did you get started in the mortgage industry, and what led you to Homestead?
A: I had worked in the financial industry for over a decade, but I was looking for something a little different. During the pandemic, I was let go from my company, and once things began to return to “normal,” I felt ready to reenter the workforce. That’s when I came across Homestead. The Processing position seemed like a perfect match for my skills, and the fact that the office was close to home made it even better. It turned out to be the right move—I couldn’t be happier with where I landed.
Q: Can you share a memorable experience or success story that made you feel you truly belong here?
A: One of the most memorable moments for me was helping a couple who had been renting a basement in a home that they had deemed an unsafe environment. They were so worried about leaving the house without their animals, fearing a fire might break out because of faulty wiring. We were able to help them purchase their first home and move into a safe space where they could finally feel secure. With the number of closings we handle, it’s easy to forget just how impactful this work can be. That closing brought me to tears—it was such a powerful reminder of why what we do matters.

A: What stands out the most is that Homestead truly feels like a family. I’ve built some life-changing friendships with my coworkers, and I know that the people around me will always have my back. It’s not just about working together; it’s about supporting each other both inside and outside of the office.
