Q: How would you describe the culture at Homestead, and what makes it different from other places you’ve worked?
A: Homestead has built a culture where managers and owners do not feel a need to micromanage their teams. When you are a seasoned employee with a history of meeting employment goals, the company trusts your knowledge and experience and allows you to do your own thing. If we need something to help us thrive or improve, our suggestions are heard and implemented. Ownership is always ready and willing to listen to new ideas.

Q: Can you share a memorable experience or success story that made you feel you truly belong here?
A: I have so many stories from over the years, but what comes to mind first and foremost is the kindness and consideration from our managers and owners. It’s become so apparent in our day-to-day interactions. They always take the time to ask about our personal lives and genuinely care about what is going on with us and our families.

Q: What’s been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned as a loan advisor with Homestead?
A: I’ve learned that not all companies are created equal. In my 39 years in the mortgage industry, Homestead Financial Mortgage is the best organization I have worked for. 

Q: Our mission statement is “Making lives better, one home at a time.” How has working at Homestead helped make your life better?
A: Working for Homestead has allowed me to have a work-life balance that I have not had the pleasure of experiencing in the past. Having the opportunity to work from home makes working seven days a week an easier task. This flexibility allows me to take “me” time when needed, and because I can do my job from anywhere, I am able to travel with my family and not miss a beat.

Q: If you could give advice to someone considering joining Homestead, what would it be?
A: Do it! Whether you’re experienced or not, just do it. We have such a great team that will invest time and resources to train and help you succeed in the mortgage industry.
