Why Brad Chose Homestead: A Loan Officer’s Story

September 4, 2025

catching up with brad beebe

Brad Beebe’s path to Homestead Financial Mortgage began with a simple suggestion from a friend who recognized his knack for numbers and people skills. What drew him here, and what keeps him thriving, is the unmatched support, teamwork, and family-like culture that make Homestead stand out. In this Q&A, Brad shares the lessons he’s learned, what makes him proud to be part of the team, and why Homestead continues to be the right place for his career and growth.

Q: How did you get started in the mortgage industry, and what led you to Homestead?
A: I was working in financial services when a friend told me about an opportunity to join his company as a Loan Officer. He knew about my background and thought that, since I was good with numbers, I might do well helping folks purchase and refinance their homes. Sure enough, I loved it immediately. I worked there for several years but eventually realized I needed stronger company support to build my referral base. That led me to Homestead! I already knew some of the Loan Officers here, and after meeting with the management team, I knew it was the right move for me.

Q: What’s been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned since joining our team as a loan advisor in 2017?
A: You can’t rely only on the skills you have today. The mortgage industry is constantly evolving, and what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. To grow as a lender, you have to stay open to change and embrace new methods, whether that’s adapting to new technologies, understanding updated regulations, or finding innovative ways to connect with clients. Continuous learning and flexibility are key to staying relevant and providing the best service possible.

Q: Can you share a memorable experience or success story that made you feel you truly belong here?
A: During the pandemic, I never felt isolated or disconnected from work. In fact, I believe our company grew closer and more unified by facing challenges together. We leaned on each other, encouraged one another, and found new ways to stay productive and connected. Using Microsoft Teams, we were able to keep communication flowing and motivate each other daily, which really strengthened our sense of teamwork. Looking back, it’s one of the times I felt most proud to be part of Homestead—knowing that no matter what was happening in the world, we were still supporting our clients and one another.

Q: How would you describe the culture at Homestead, and what makes it different from other places you’ve worked?
A: Homestead feels like family. I’ve never worked for a company that cares so deeply about its team, both professionally and personally. Leadership makes sure you feel supported, and that kind of backing gives you the confidence to grow in your role and try new things. They always have my back and are genuinely invested in me, my family, and our success. It’s rare to find a company that prioritizes people this way, and it makes Homestead a place where you can build a lasting career.

Q: If you could give advice to someone considering joining Homestead, what would it be?
A: Make the move! Homestead equips you with the tools and resources you need to succeed, from technology that helps you work smarter to ongoing training that keeps you sharp. It’s a place where you can thrive both personally and professionally.

Brad’s story is a reminder that when you find the right team, your career can flourish in ways you never expected. At Homestead, he’s discovered not just the tools and resources to succeed, but also the camaraderie and support that make every challenge manageable and every success worth celebrating. For those considering a future with Homestead, Brad’s advice is clear, make the move, embrace the opportunities, and experience firsthand the difference a people-first company can make.
