With nearly three decades of experience in the mortgage industry, JR Smith has built a reputation for knowledge, reliability, and a client-first approach. Beginning in 1998, he opened one of the first mortgage brokerage firms in the Branson, Missouri area before relocating to Las Vegas, where he continued originating and processing loans through 2003.

After moving to the Tallahassee, Florida area, JR has spent over 23 years serving clients throughout the Florida Panhandle. During that time, he worked with a Credit Union Service Organization for more than 19 years before transitioning into the retail mortgage market, where he continues to focus on loan origination.

JR brings extensive experience in real estate mortgage origination, including Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans for both purchases and refinances. Known for his thoughtful and attentive approach, he takes pride in truly listening to clients, understanding their unique financial situations, and guiding them toward the most beneficial mortgage solutions.

JR has been married for 20 years and is a proud father to his daughter and a son. Outside of work, he especially enjoys supporting his son’s competitive bowling pursuits and the occasional fishing trip they take together. In his free time, JR enjoys fishing, baseball, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks (Go Hogs), and spending time with family and friends.
